After Pop (Danny Aiello) learns that he is dying, his last request is for one of his sons, Tom or Jeff (T.R. Knight), to get married and have a son to carry on the family name. But when Tom dies trying it's up to Jeff - who's in the seminary studying to become a priest! When Pop asks Jeff - "Who's more important? Your father or someone you've never met before?" - he leaves the seminary and sets off on his new calling, to fulfill Pop's last request.
