Principal Cast

Recorded on July 10th, 2004 at Montreal's Place des Arts, this first ever Oliver Jones DVD captures the pianist at his very best. Performing in front of a home town crowd during that yearÂ's Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, Mr. Jones proves here why he's considered one of the finest jazz pianists Canada has ever produced.

Jones demonstrates his harmonic finesse and rich musicality, matched with his impeccable sense of time and dizzying speed. In a first class setting, with a captivated, admiring audience, Jones, backed by bassist Dave Young and drummer Norm Marshall Villeneuve, continues a proud tradition inspired in no small part by the masterful work of Oscar Peterson.

To finish this unforgettable evening, Oliver Jones is joined my none other than Oscar Peterson himself. The two virtuosos perform duets on two exciting compositions, to the exhilarated delight of the awe-struck spectators.
