Baker (Academy Award nominee Anthony Quayle, 1969, Best Supporting Actor, Anne of the Thousand Days), a private in the British army during the 1880s, finds himself in the middle of Barash while it is under siege by Mahdi forces. Finding a boat to escape, he brings fellow soldier Murchison (Derek Fowlds, TV's "Yes Minister"), a governess (Sylvia Sims, The Queen) and the daughter of an emir (Jenny Agutter, Logan's Run). Traveling down the treacherous Nile River to Khartoum, the foursome encounters wild animals, dangerous traders and menacing tribesmen. Newly remastered
