Convicted embezzler Witt Hampton escapes from prison, and while hiding out in a barn, is discovered by two young children. After convincing them he's a friendly ghost, the three embark on imaginative adventures until, inspired by their innocence, Witt vows to redeem his crimes-before the sheriff can put him back behind bars.
