Pitt, Aronofsky Team For Sci-Fi Epic

Darren Aronofsky, who's suddenly becoming the Hollywood definition of "Hot Property," is set to write and direct science fiction epic for Warner Bros.

The untitled project is moving on the fast track and is apparently attracting interest from many heavy hitting actors in Tinsel Town. The leading contender at this point is none other than golden boy Brad Pitt. Aronofsky, known for the indie hit Pi and last year's smash hit Requiem For A Dream (which garnered an Oscar nom for actress Ellen Burstyn), also has Batman: Year One in development at Warner.

It was not immediately known which movie would take precedence for production or even what this new movie was about. Hmm...seems I remember that there were rumors not so long ago that Warner wanted Pitt to play a young Batman. Could this just be flowery poetics to cover the fact that Pitt is the next Caped Crusader? Time will tell...
