Vin Diesel No Longer 'Fast And Furious'

As we reported last week, Universal had two marquee sequels on tap starring current Hollywood hot property Vin Diesel, The Fast And The Furious 2 and Pitch Black 2: The Chronicles Of Riddick. We also mentioned that with Vin's escalating salary, it would be difficult for Universal to keep him in both projects. Today, the other shoe dropped.

Vin Diesel broke off talks to repise his role of Dominic Toretto in The Fast And The Furious 2 in order to concentrate on Pitch Black 2. This news wasn't unexpected and Universal now turns to plan B. They will continue to develop The Fast And The Furious 2, but they'll go with a second script that they commissioned which follows Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner to Miami where's he recruited to go undercover in their street racing circuit in hopes that he can redeem himself and get his badge back.
