Cruise Congratulates Ex-Wife On Oscar

When Nicole Kidman won her first Oscar Sunday night for her role in The Hours, she was in shock, but I'm sure that paled in comparison to the first call she received when she turned her cell phone on after the ceremony. Her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, got through and offered his sincere congratulations for the deserving win.

According to the tabloid rag 'The Sun,' Cruise's speech went something like this. "Congratulations on you amazing achievement. You are wonderful in this film and fully deserve this award. Have a fantastic evening."

Nicole didn't have to worry about bumping into him and his new flame Penelope Cruz as he was in New Zealand filming his new film The Last Samurai.
