'The Matrix: Revolutions' set for unprecedented launch

On November 5th, Warner Bros. will attempt to do something that has never been done before. The Matrix: Revolutions will debut worldwide at precisely the exact same second. Fans of The Matrix will be able to get their final fix at 6:00 AM if they live in Los Angeles, 9:00 AM if they live in New York, or 11:00 PM in Tokyo.

With the onslaught of Internet piracy making films available online before their release, studios have been moving towards a worldwide release on larger films, but this is the first time that a film will debut at the exact second across all the world's time zones. If this innovation wasn't enough, Warner Bros. is also planning having The Matrix: Revolutions on IMAX screens that same day.

This will also mark the first time that a film will debut simultaneously in regular and large format theaters.
