'Bourne Supremacy' starts filming

It's very common when film sequels get made in Hollywood today that there is a lot of turnover from one cast to another. So, it's a pleasant surprise when a movie franchise can actually keep most of the prinicipal characters the same.

Today, Universal announced that The Bourne Supremacy has begun principal photography in Europe. A sequel to last year's The Bourne Identity, Supremacy returns Matt Damon, Franka Potente, Julia Stiles and Brian Cox in the roles from the first movie.

The Bourne series of movies is based on a book series of the same name by Robert Ludlum in which Jason Bourne wakes up with amnesia one day only to find out that he prior to his loss of memory, he was a top secret agent and various factions are trying to kill him.

The latest installment is scheduled for release late next year.
