Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes have a daughter named 'Suri'

Katie Holmes gave birth Tuesday to a girl weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces and measuring 20 inches long, according to a spokesperson for the couple.

Holmes and fiancé Tom Cruise have named their daughter Suri, a name meaning 'princess' in Hebrew or 'red rose' in Persian. "Both mother and daughter are doing well," the couple said in a statement.

This is Holmes' first child and the third for Cruise. Tom has an adopted son and daughter with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
