Variety reports that Edward Norton has been cast as Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk movie reboot for Marvel Studios.

Another Hulk movie, you ask? Well, it seems the guys at Marvel didn't really like Ang Lee's version. (Who did?) So they've decided to produce their own in a Hollywood mulligan sort of way.

Bruce Banner, the non-angry version of the green Hulk, was played by Eric Bana in Lee's 2003 version. The movie made over $130 million at the domestic box office -- a disappointment compared to the draw of other Marvel-based movies like Spider-Man and X-Men.

Louis Leterrier will direct this new version. He previously did both Transporter movies and Unleashed. Many were hoping he'd draft Transporter star Jason Statham for the Banner role. Zak Penn, the guy who helped write the X-Men and Fantastic Four movies, has written the new screenplay.

With Leterrier and Penn setting the scenes, we're almost assured of having a much more action-packed Hulk.

The film will begin shooting this summer in Toronto in hopes of a June 13, 2008 release from Universal Pictures. (Universal did the last Hulk as well.) The Incredible Hulk will be the second release from Marvel Studios following Iron Man by a month.
