While some may argue to the contrary, even I am not egotistical enough to believe that my little voice had anything to do with this announcement, but the timing is suspect.

It was announced through Chuck Palahniuk's official website (www.chuckpalahniuk.net) that his novel Choke has been given the greenlight and will begin filming on June 18th. Sam Rockwell has been tabbed to play the lead Victor Mancini. No official casting has been revealed concerning Victor's mother, but the same announcement said that Glenn Close, Annette Bening and Julianne Moore are all still in the running.

Actor Clark Gregg, who also wrote the screenplay for What Lies Beneath, has adapted the novel for the big screen and will make his directorial debut.

The timing is very convenient as Chuck's latest book Rant hits bookstores today.
