Esquire names Theron 'Sexiest Woman Alive'

Reporting on Esquire's annual choice for Sexiest Woman Alive has become something of a tradition around here. At least that's how we're rationalizing it.

We chronicled the choice of Angelina Jolie in 2004, Jessica Biel in 2005, and Scarlett Johansson in 2006. Esquire's pick for this year is Charlize Theron.

Theron will appear on the cover of the magazine hitting newsstands Oct. 16. There's an interview with the Oscar-winning star inside where she talks about, among other things, her least favorite film -- Reindeer Games. "That was a bad, bad, bad movie," she is quoted as saying. "But, I got to work with John Frankenheimer. I wasn't lying to myself -- that's why I did it."

The 32-year-old Charlize can be seen in the critically-acclaimed In the Valley of Elah, now in theaters.
