Call for submissions: What's the best movie blog?

After counting down our five favorite movie-themed podcasts this past summer, we thought we'd tackle movie blogs next. We're big fans of movie blogs. My daily blog roll includes about a dozen favorites.

However, the movie blog universe is massive. There are so many great blogs about movies out there that I'd guess our eventual #1 is not even one I know about right now.

As a result, we're calling on you for help. What are your favorite sites for movie news, reviews, information, and commentary?

Our criteria will include frequency of updates, site design, credibility, community, and -- most importantly -- writing quality.

We must qualify that these be general movie web sites. We really can't expand our scope to include individual movie sites like those for Star Wars, Harry Potter, Twilight, et al. We will allow those dedicated to specific movie genres like a horror or animation movie blog. It can also be a blog from one individual or a team of writers.

If you have a movie blog you'd like to have included in the judging, please send us the link. Also, if you have a few sites you'd like to nominate, email those to us as well.

We'll take submissions until Dec. 14, 2008. After that time we'll start dissecting them to create a list of the best.
