'Machete' has a Cinco De Mayo message for Arizona

With all the goings-on in Arizona these days, it seems that Robert Rodriquez' pet project Machete just became a whole lot more topical. And to drive that fact home Rodriquez and friends have a special message for Arizona on this fine Cinqo De Mayo by way of AICN.

As for the rest of us, we get a really cool first look at a movie that, to be honest, was on my radar, but didn't really resonate that much with me. After seeing this clip, it's now front and center on my "must see" list.

Machete is due in theaters on September 3 and it's readily apparent that Rodriquez has taken all of the coolness of his early work on El Mariachi and Desperado and funneled it into this project. And is it just me or is Cheech Marin resurrecting his priest character from Grindhouse?
