Interactive 'Scott Pilgrim' trailer is old school dope

I'll be the first to admit that I don't get all the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World hype. I mean, I've seen the trailer and I was rather nonplussed. And I'm a huge Edgar Wright fan.

Maybe it's Michael Ceraitis (being sick and tired of seeing him play the same role in every movie) or the rather lame plot of having to fight the exes of someone he's interested in dating. Whatever the reason, I wasn't drinking the Scott Pilgrim kool-aid.

Well, Universal must have a direct line to my brain because I was sure there was no way they could get me excited about the second full-length trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. But, they proved me wrong.

The new trailer is the latest in the "interactive trailer" movement and it seems that it has built on the Iron Man 2 interactive trailer if only by wrapping the interactivity in a familiar vehicle that is near and dear to my heart. The interactive nature is basically an 8 bit video game where you can click on the different parts and earn points and unlock achievements.

I'm such a sucker for old school video game action. I'm not sure if this will make me want to watch the movie any more or not. To be honest, I was paying more attention to playing the game aspect of the trailer than the actual content, but at least it makes me want to go back and watch those unlocked achievements.

So, perhaps from there Edgar Wright can convince me to go and see this movie. Check out the game, er trailer, er game below and let us know what you think.
