If there's one thing that we don't do enough of around here (but we should), it's predict or point out must-see theatrical films. I think it's because we're a little lazy and a whole lot terrible at it.

Don't believe us? Check out our predictions for top box office movies of the year. Yep, we didn't even list Inception ($272 million) in the top 10. Now, Tim and I do pick our annual lists of sleeper picks, but I'm afraid his or my list is much better.

Although, I will give Tim props for The Social Network and The Tree of Life, if it even comes out this year. And while I'm at it, I will toot my own horn with my pick of The Expendables, but other than that, we pretty much suck at it.

And besides, why would we waste your time with our drivel when other sources, such as indieWIRE are so good at it?

It's September, which means that, unofficially, Summer is over and indieWIRE is ready with their superb list of the 33 Must See Films of the Fall. Of course, they had me at #2's Black Swan.

I've never been one to understand all the hoopla around Terrence Malick, other than he makes Stanley Kubrick look like a guerrilla filmmaker by comparison, but Tim will be happy to see that The Tree of Life tops their list.

I will go one step farther than indieWIRE and call their contribution an essential survival tool at the Fall box office. We all know that ticket prices aren't going down anytime soon, so why not make the most informed choice when selecting a movie to see at the local megaplex?

Let us know what you think about their list.
