Quentin Tarantino is one of the most acclaimed film directors of this generation. He also happens to be a huge movie geek. Lest we forget that he got his film "education" working at a California video store.
After a successful 2009 that included Inglourious Basterds, QT must have devoted much of last year to watching movies. Tarantino published his favorite 20 films on his website. To say the least, it's an interesting mix.
- Toy Story 3
- The Social Network
- Animal Kingdom
- I Am Love
- Tangled
- True Grit
- The Town
- Greenberg
- Cyrus
- Enter the Void ("Hands down best credit scene of the year... Maybe best credit scene of the decade. One of the greatest in cinema history." - QT)
- Kick-Ass
- Knight and Day
- Get Him to the Greek
- The Fighter
- The King's Speech
- The Kids Are All Right
- How to Train Your Dragon
- Robin Hood
- Amer
- Jackass 3-D
You're probably thinking what I was thinking. Quentin, the man who turned violence into an artform, picked Toy Story 3 as his best film of last year? Surprising, but true.
It's also shocking that Inception didn't make the cut. It's totally a movie that would fit with QT's persona. Perhaps it was too Tarantino for Tarantino. Or maybe he hasn't made it down to the video store yet to rent it.
