Get a 'Rise' out of new 'Planet of the Apes' trailer

I must admit that I wasn't the biggest Planet of the Apes fan growing up. What can I say? I grew up in the Star Wars generation and after those movies, everything else in the realm of Sci-Fi paled in comparison.

I've recently gone back and watched the older series of films and have found a new appreciation for what they were trying to accomplish in a volatile time in making films. So, with that in mind, I went into Tim Burton's version expecting this great movie and was sorely disappointed.

Planet of the Apes may be the one blemish on his otherwise perfect record of amazing films.

So, you can imagine my trepidation concerning Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It's sort of like taking another bite of a pie that left a really nasty taste in your mouth with the last bite.

Thankfully though, the first trailer was promising and today's release of the second trailer exclusively through Yahoo! Movies actually has me salivating in anticipation for this August release.
