Spike Lee Is Paying The 'Rent'

Controversial film maker, and full time Knicks fan, Spike Lee is getting ready for his latest excursion behind the camera. This time Spike will be directing a big screen adaptation of the muiscal Rent.

Also along for the ride is Taye Diggs who will reprise the role of Benny, the role that he created during the initial Broadway run five years ago. No other roles have been decided and it was immediately unclear whether the film would faithfully follow the musical, or merely an incarnation loosely based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play.
