Who says that you can't teach an old dog new tricks? That old wives tale was obliterated last night both literally and metaphorically as The Artist took home the most Golden Globes with three, but may have been upstaged by their cuddly co-star Uggie the dog.

The other old dog of the night was Harvey Weinstein who not only brought the unconventional The Artist to the light of day, but also somehow made Madonna relevant again with her win for Best Original Song for "Masterpiece" in the Weinstein film W.E.. This win was notable for two reasons, it forced Film Critic Roger Ebert to tweet "Okay, I do this for a living, and I just had to look up "W.E." on IMDb" and it revealed to the world Madonna's adorable nick name for Harvey Weinstein: The Punisher.

The other big winner of the night was George Clooney whose film The Descendants took home statues for Best Actor in a Drama (Clooney) and Best Motion Picture - Drama. Beyond the wins though, Clooney may have taken his bromance with Brad Pitt to a whole new level that caused many on Twitter to remark that the pair "should just get a room already."

Speaking of making people uncomfortable, host Ricky Gervais was noticeably restrained after last year's noteworthy digs on Hollywood's elite. Most of his humor was confined to the self-deprecating variety as he made fun of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's "new rules" for him to host and his, uh, small member. There were a few catty jokes naturally, but Kim Kardashian is just too easy a target and most nominees like Jodie Foster seem to go along with the digs this year.

Two actresses did demonstrate their unhappiness with Gervais' jokes. Madonna attempted to rebut his joke about her virginity and failed miserably while Natalie Portman completely ignored his joke about not making family a priority. At least she didn't laugh at his joke, that could have been tragic.

Below you will find the winners in all of the categories in case, you know, you had something better to do last night, like washing your hair or something.
