Is '3001' Becoming A Reality?

The long rumored film version of Arthur C. Clarke's 3001: The Final Fantasy is getting a healthy shot in the arm this week. Rumors have it that "Mr. Box Office" himself Tom Hanks has expressed an interest in playing a role in the film.

With drawing power like that, you wouldn't figure it'd be too hard to find financing...
