It looks like Disney Animation is taking a page out of rival Blue Sky Studio's playbook. You might recall that Blue Sky, the animation arm of Fox, really hit the stage with the breakout hit Ice Age back in 2002. While the film was pretty good and the sequels were at best mediocre photocopies of the original, the one interesting thing that stuck with me for the last decade was Scrat and his misadventures with that nut.

While Scrat was a part of the Ice Age movies tangentially, his arcs were always like a movie within a movie to me. So much so, that Scrat got his own shorts that would play before their animated films and DVDs.

You might be asking yourself what this has to do with Disney's upcoming film Frozen, well, you only have to view the short 90 second film below to make the connection. In it, we are introduced to Olaf, an odd snowman voiced by Josh Gad, and Sven, a reindeer.

The pair do battle over Olaf's nose in a short that really just serves to introduce the characters and give us an idea of what to expect when Frozen hits theaters on November 27. The film itself is an animated take on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, The Snow Queen featuring the voice talents of Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel.

The short is humorous and much like Scrat's little adventures really sets the mood and leaves you wanting more. Are you looking forward to seeing Frozen?
