Two new action trailers deliver on the 'E'xcitement

When you're watching a trailer for an action film, the goal is pretty simple. You want just enough plot to make sure that you're not going to roll your eyes through the whole film and you want at least two explosions or fight scenes per minute.

In two new trailers for The Expendables 3 and The Equalizer, they deliver on this expecttion and then some. If you've seen the first two Expendables films than there's really not much that needs to be said by Sly and company, although it was nice to see some extended shots of Harrison Ford. Of course, that's probably 99% of his entire screen time, but that's ok.

In the trailer for The Equalizer, Denzel Washington gets his shot at a Taken film by portraying a retired Agency hitman who turns into vigilante in this big screen adaptation of the late 1980s TV series by the same name. Again, it's weird and cool to see Chloe Grace Moretz all grown up, but this is definitely a film that looks to play well with that sizable audience that have embraced the Taken films with so much gusto.

The Expendables 3 invades theaters on August 15.

The Equalizer starts fighting for the little guy/girl on September 26.
