Disney Moves Forward On 'The Princess Diaries 2'

In a world where only a few things are certain (death, taxes, the Cubs choking in August), it's becoming increasingly clear that if a movie is profitable, a sequel is guaranteed.

This week, Disney gave word to begin work on the script to The Princess Diaries 2, even though the first movie was still awaiting word on its second weekend box office grosses. Such is the world of Hollywood these days, be proactive, not reactive.

The studio owns an option for actress Anne Hathaway to do the sequel and hopes that a strong script will convince the rest of the cast to reprise their roles.
