Whoopi Gets Nod For Academy Awards

After Billy Crystal dropped out of the hosting duties last year to film America's Sweethearts, he must've burned a bridge or two on the way out of town. Instead of returning to the familiar host, the Academy has handed the baton over to Whoopi Goldberg for the 74th Academy Awards Show.

Goldberg, who has played the gratious host three times before, was thrilled to be given the honor once again. "It'll be the first broadcast done from the Oscar's new home and I love a housewarming." This year's show will be held at the all-new Kodak Theatre, which was constructed specifically to be the home of the Academy Awards.

The Oscars will be given out on Sunday, March 24th. The nominees will be announced on Tuesday, February 12th.
