Frank Darabont Returns To Writing

Writer/director Frank Darabont is getting back to what he does best, writing really cool movies. The two time Academy Award nominee for best screenplay has spent more time in the past few years directing The Majestic and The Green Mile, than writing.

But, he's promised his fans that that's about to change. His first project is to finish his adaptation of Robert R. McCammon's Mine. Mine should be more along the lines of Darabont's The Shawshank Redemption. It's a dark tale of a woman that kidnaps an infant son to try and resurrect her relationship with her estranged lover. The boy's natural mother launches a fierce battle of her own to get her son back and the two meet in a final, climatic battle.
