Recorded Live at 92Y on Dec 18, 2010 with Matthew Lazar Singers and produced by Phil Ramone. Elie Wiesel is a world-renowned author, scholar, human rights advocate and Nobel Laureate. He is not as well known for his passion for music. This changed when on December 18, 2010 he decided to share memories and melodies of his childhood at the sold out concert at the 92nd Street Y. The project was first imagined in 1982 when executive producer John Heyman (Passage to India, Go Between, etc.) listened as Professor Wiesel sang at his wedding. The two talked about creating a record to ensure that these songs would be preserved. Finally after 30 years the project has become a reality.
