Dave and Jono are two friends trying to make a film about a drunk and his dog, but they soon realize that not everyone wants to see their concept. After a series of fruitless pitches, they decide to tackle their film alone. As Jono struggles with taking on his identity as a director, Dave succumbs to the dark side of the film's lead role.
