Mondo Collecto invites you into a world that you may already be a part of - the world of collecting! Never before has there been a "Mondo" documentary film exposing the world's most passionate collectors and their collections. Independent filmmaker R.P. Whalen spent four years interviewing and spending time with these dedicated pop culture archaeologists. You'll meet toy aficionados with valuable items you could never afford, as well as fans with collections devoted to such diverse subjects as The Dukes of Hazzard, Pez dispensers, Phantom of the Paradise, Ben Cooper Halloween costumes, and 8mm home movie distributors like Castle and Ken Films. Mondo Collecto also spotlights legendary B-movie director Ted V. Mikels (who collects antique weapons) and Bill Lindsey, lead singer of the "horror rock" band Impaler (a collector of Universal Monsters memorabilia.) Interspersed throughout are plenty of Russ Meyer-style go-go girls dancing and comedy skits about serial killers and x-ray glasses that really work.
