An elite team of Nazis are on a suicide mission through the North African desert. Led by Captain Schoeller (Ken Clark), the soldiers are on their way to Casablanca to assassinate Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin - the leaders of the Allied forces. Among the commandos is Lt. Wolf (Horst Frank), an American-born Nazi soldier who may not be fully committed to the Third Reich, and Faddja Hassen (Jeanne Valerie), their Arab guide. Battling armed nomads, scorpions and each other, the team struggles to reach their destination and their targets. Disguised as U.S. soldiers, the surviving Nazi assassins infiltrate the city. The Allies must put an end to the deadly mission before it costs them the war.

Italian-born Director Umberto Lenzi is one of the most notorious modern day cult-film directors. Lenzi's film career began as a writer and film critic while studying law. Switching to filmmaking, his directorial debut came in 1961 with the release of the pirate epic Queen of the Seas. Over the next four decades, he directed over sixty films in almost every genre including giallo mysteries, spaghetti westerns and cannibal shockers. Of all of the 1960s war films, Desert Commandos is considered by critics to be one of the best.
