No more action flicks for Affleck

It might just be rhetoric to help sell his new movie Jersey Girl, but actor Ben Affleck has decided that he's through making action movies. "I can't imagine doing another action movie. I'm not interested."

Affleck became a household name with a string of high-octane hits such as Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and The Sum Of All Fears, but he yearns to get back to his acting chop roots after last year's box office disappointment Paycheck. In Jersey Girl, he returns to writer/director Kevin Smith for a personal story about fatherhood.

The combination proved very successful for 1997's Chasing Amy. There are even rumors floating around that he and bud Matt Damon are collaborating on another script. The pair won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Good Will Hunting.

The allure of action movies might be hard to resist. Not only is Fox desperate to make a sequel to Daredevil, but Miramax recently handed Kevin Smith the reins to The Green Hornet.

Jersey Girl hits theaters on March 26th.
